I’m throwing “it” out there today….
I take antidepressants to treat my postpartum depression (PPD) and anxiety and I am not ashamed of “it”.
“It” does not define me as a weak person
“It” does not declare my defeat or failure as a mother
“It” does not mean that I am a freak, crazy or violent
“It” can’t be wished away or *snapped* out of
“It” is a real illness just like diabetes or heart disease.
In case you missed “it”…
“IT” IS A REAL ILLNESS
“It” is PAINFUL
“It” needs time
“It” needs patience
“It” needs love and support and encouragement
“It” will not beat me because I know that “it” will get better.
I have hope in that

I understand, and you are right. “It” is not going to win. You are.
