The winner is:
I am very thankful my children have never had to wear someone else’s underwear!
Thank you to everyone who entered!!
Grade school.
The mecca of all things wet, sticky, dirty, and oh my god what is that?
I bet that you can remember a time when you were a child at school and thought it was a good idea to test Nathan’s theory that slipping on mud is just like slipping on ice.
No?
Ok, well I do.
By the time recess was over, I was covered head to toe in mud.
Mrs. H shook her head in disapproval, threw me a clear bag with a set of clean clothes and pointed her finger towards the bathroom.
Layers of mud caked on the ends of my pants flung up, down and around the floors as I stomped my way down the hall.
I was making “animal tracks”.
The janitor loved me that day.
I crammed into the blue bathroom stall, carefully wiggled my way out of dirty clothes and slid into the new ones.
The shirt was snug and the pants barely made it to my ankles.
My eyes widened in disbelief as I ran out of the stall and got up on my tip toes to look at myself in the mirror.
I was growing!
When I got home from school that day, my Mom said, “Kimberly, what happened to your clothes?”
“I played in the mud Mom and got dirty. Mom I’m growing!”
“No, I mean, what happened to the clean clothes I sent you?”
“I’m wearing them. Can you see that I’m growing?”
“No, those aren’t yours.”
“Yes, they are! I’m just growing!”
“No. No those aren’t yours sweetie.”
“You mean I’m wearing someone else’s underwear?”
All I could think about was who’s underwear I had worn. Was it Jackie? Was it Sarah B? Oh God, was it Mellisa M who picked her nose?
And my Mom spent her night diligently labeling each article of my clothing with a permanent marker.
Thankfully there are easier ways to label your children’s clothing so that they don’t lose them, or like me, wear someone else’s underwear home.
This year my son is starting school and I was so excited when Lovable Labels contacted me and asked that I would try them out.

Thank goodness…the only thing he “lost” at preschool was his lunch kit. And that was bc my husband forget to get it. LOL.

Labels won’t do crap when it’s an outright theft rather than an accidental wearage of someone else’s drawers. Z has lost TWO jackets this year because evidently someone just likes his shi…stuff. Whew, I feel better getting that out. NOW! I can say how absolutely adorable and usable Lovable Labels are (because damn I’m tired of using a Sharpie).

Cute! I can’t think of anything Abbey has lost at school. Of course, she is only 4. We lose toys in our house daily, and by toys I mean little things like a marble taken out of a centerpiece that is her “FAVORITE THING EVER!!” and could be anywhere in or out of the house. Sigh.

My son has lost basically everything he has ever owned. I don’t know how he does it!

Thanks for that very intersting post
)
I knewd Lovable Labels for a couple of time already, i did some small orders in the past – i can recommend it.

somehow in 1st grade one of the teens came home missing a shoe. seriously. took off her shoes for carpet time and afterwards there was a big to-do because she and another girl had the same Payless shoes and wore the same size and out of the two pairs the teacher decided the shoe belonged to the other child. it was never found. they called midday and i brought her a pair of shoes when i came to pick her up. poor thing had to hop out on one foot because the security guard wouldn’t let me in. after that, everything got the sharpee treatment.
did everything on the list and here’s my tweet url https://twitter.com/VanitaCyril/status/226392910898290688

lol I love that you wore someone else’s underwear. Also these labels sound amazing. My son is starting kindergarten in the fall and I know I’m going to have to label everything!
Trying to think what they’ve lost at daycare. I mean books. Tiny little imaginext swords. Fake spiders. Bakugan cards.

first of all…you are one of the only bloggers I know who can make a review/giveaway post a fricking stand alone HILARIOUS post.
And Eddie has lost his mind at daycare. Along with numerous stocking caps (I believe you Canadians call them toques), his crocs (yes, we went home with NO SHOES ON a few times), underwear (don’t even ask), and numerous macdonald’s toys he begged to take along that we knew he would lose.
ahem.

My daughter lost a sock?! Why one and not two… I don’t know. I even questioned whether I sent her with two socks or not!

Ok, they never came home from daycare in someone else’s underwear (ewww), but they did come home on occasion in other people’s socks, coats and boots. Sigh.
My son lost his cup, and my daughter lost her scarf and mittens. We never did get those back…
Will tweet and follow!

We have been very lucky to only lose a few things at school. A few mittens and winter hats. Thankfully they had labels on them making it very easy to locate in the lost in found. We label everything!!!
I followed everyone above on FB and twitter. I also tweeted about this contest. Thanks!

I’m GLAD my daughter doesn’t know of your blog so I can write this. In 5th grade she went to school with TWO SOCKS on her feet. At the end of the day, they had vanished. But she HAD them. Just not on her feet. Apparently she felt she wasn’t developing as quickly as some girls & she’d stuffed them in her tee shirt. Her chest was HUGE. She always met me after school in my classroom (I taught 3rd grade at her school) so we could walk home together. At first I didn’t notice because I was putting stuff on the blackboard for the next day. But when I turned around & saw her, I almost passed out. I asked, “What are you … ummm … wearing?” She had the good grace to blush & answered,(MUMBLED) “Socks.” I wanted to laugh. I gave myself BIG points because I didn’t. “Well, I think you need to remove them & put them on your feet. Now, okay?” She glared at me as tho’ I didn’t fully grasp how important those sock-boobs were, and went in the girl’s bathroom to rearrange herself. I got busy & just briefly glanced at her as I was locking up my cabinets so we could leave. About halfway home (a block away) I sneaked a peek only to see a strange lil’ blobby bulge under her shirt. She had done as I said and removed THEM but not BOTH of them. One sock was on her right foot. The other was rolled up into a ‘snake’ and stuffed back in her shirt. Poor girl! She was LITERALLY 15 before she caught up. And after that long story (sorry) I have to say my daughter lost three things that day: her socks (kind of) her mind (for sure) and – for a brief time – her Dolly Parton sock-boobs!

My son is such a diligent kindergartner that he wouldn’t dream of losing anything at school. His little sister however, not quite as mindful of her things. We went to pick up the kindergartner from school one day and my little girl left her sunglasses in the classroom. Gah!
