An old gentleman guided me down into his dimly lit basement. He pointed over to the kitchen table draped in lime green linen and said, “She’s in the crapper. Take a seat love. Don’t be nervous. She doesn’t bite.”

I giggled and took a seat.

The basement looked like 1970 had barfed all over the walls and carpet, but it was normal. Definitely not what I had expected of a psychic.

I could hear her feet daintily stepping down the stairs.

“Hello love,” she said in a British accent, “Are we ready?”
