I cannot believe that in just two short weeks my son will be parading out of his school and attaching himself to my leg for the next two months. Oh summer…
For two months, I will have a personal cheerleader in the bathroom, a carpet destroyer, eater of all the things that has MY name on it, that annoying voice that says “Moooommm are we done shopping yet?”, and I will forever have to use phrases such as “Don’t put that in the dog’s eye” and “Don’t stick that in your nose” and “No you cannot put your tongue on that-oh you did already” and “No. No. No. No!”
All joking aside, I really do look forward to spending time with him like at the park or at the zoo.
We have never been to the zoo.
The zoo is called “my house”.
I don’t have to pay to enter it.
I’ve jammed in lots of fun activities for all of us and can I tell you that I’m sweating buckets just thinking of it all. Life has been admittedly tough for the last couple of months and I’ve been trying to be good to myself with lots of self care and overindulgences in ice cream… …all by myself. So these last couple of weeks in June? I own them. Writing…
And on rainy days, you better believe that I’m taking advantage of Netflix. Normally I would have to wait until the wee hours of the night to catch up on movies that are not kid appropriate and sport related. Now I can watch them during the day. Check out the June Netflix line-up:
- Orange is the New Black
- Pretty Little Liars
- Breaking Bad
- Friday Night Lights
- Call the Midwife
- Freaks and Geeks
Even though it is only two short weeks, I will be squeezing in all the “me” time that I can get!
Tell me, what do you do to recharge you?
What are your favourite late night shows?
